![]() The Studio, designed by an artist, juts up out of the pines on the oceanfront in Manzanita, Oregon. Standing tall and separate from The LightHouse, The Studio brings the feeling of spaciousness and privacy. It is designed as two stories.
The first floor has a kitchenette with a two-burner hot plate, a small refrigerator and a toaster oven. There is an adequate work area with a sink, pots and pans and all you need to cook a delightful meal.
On the first floor, there is a small wood-burning stove. Coupled with the passive solar design of The Studio and electric wall heaters, the wood heat can take the chill out of those cool coastal evenings and provides comfort and security during dramatic winter storms. Next to the stove is a window seat that doubles as a bed with a view of the ocean surf.
Upstairs there is a bathroom area in the back of the building with a sink, shower and toilet newly surrounded by a wall and louvered doors for privacy.
In the front part of the upstairs, there is a seating area which overlooks the beach, the Pacific Ocean and Neahkahnie Mountain. Once you sit down, you may never get up! We have people call us and ask if the "one with the chairs" is available. There is a skylight and vaulted ceilings and the atmosphere of a ship's cabin, complete with porthole. ![]() From the second floor, you climb up into the sleeping loft. There is a double bed-sized loft and a small window that lets you breathe the ocean air and hear the surf.
Our places are small and are intended for one or two people. ![]()
